Introduction

DCAA was founded in 1997 to serve the Chinese American community in Delaware. We are a non-profit, non-sectarian, and non-political community-based organization with a 501(C)(3) tax-exempt charitable status, registered with the United Way of Delaware (Agency Code: 9386).

One of our major tasks is to sponsor and support the First State Chun Hui Chinese School (FSCHCS, 春晖中文学校, or the DCAA Chinese School), which meets on Saturday afternoons at the Chinese American Community Center. The school teaches Chinese language and culture to over 250 students from pre-K to 10th grade.

DCAA has a growing number of clubs and interest groups that provide a venue for recreation, social networking , information exchange, and professional career consultation. We also strive to serve as a resource hub for the local Chinese American businesses and help connect them with their customers.

We organize a Chinese New Year celebration gala, usually in February, and a Mid-Autumn Festival family picnic, usually in September. We co-sponsor the annual Chinese Festival with the Chinese American Community Center, in June.

Our other community services include:
  • Helping newcomers assimilate into the community
  • Providing free English lessons to senior citizens
  • Helping raise funds to support families of our community in need
  • Helping raise funds for victims of natural disasters
  • Collecting financial support for school-age children who cannot afford education in China
